Ana Luisa Alicea, a nine year resident of St. Petersburg, FL and previously of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. She was 68 years old. The daughter of the late Miguel and Venancia Garcia Alicea, she was born on March 21, 1947 in Dorado, Puerto Rico. She married the father of her children, Truman Ortiz-Gonzalez in Puerto Rico in 1965. For the last sixteen years, she has been the loving companion of Osvaldo Perez. Ana loved socializing with friends and family, enjoyed decorating and collecting items for her home. She also enjoyed fishing and watching fireworks at the St. Petersburg Pier. A beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She had one of the biggest hearts and would always go out of her way to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Ana is survived by her loving Sons, Henry Gonzalez and his wife, Carmen of Snellville, Georgia and Frank Gonzalez and his wife, Huyen of Coventry, Rhode Island; grandsons, David McCarthur of St. Petersburg, Fl, Alexander Gonzalez of Meriden, CT and Gabriel Gonzalez of Snellville, GA; a brother, Santos Alicea of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Mercedes Alicea of Newburgh, NY, Matilde Alicea of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Catalina Alicea of Newburgh, NY and many, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miguel and Venancia, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Luis E. Alicea and Ricardo Alicea and a sister, Miguelina Alicea Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 pm on Monday, January 18 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550. Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm at Brooks Funeral Home with Pastor Marroquin officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
