Obituary

Angel Luis Cintron

February 20, 1935 ~ June 23, 2025

Angel Luis Cintron, 90, of Hartford, Connecticut, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 23, 2025, in Ocala, Florida.

Angel was born on February 20, 1935, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, to Benito Cintron and Bernabela Pomalés. He immigrated to the United States in the late 1950s, where he met and later married the love of his life, Maria T. Cintron. They were happily married for 65 years.

Throughout his life, Angel wore many hats. He was a devoted pastor, Sunday school teacher, and instructor at the Bible Institute. He officiated weddings and baptisms, counseled countless Christian couples, and served as a chaplain in many of Connecticut’s prisons. Angel faithfully served the Lord for over 60 years and was deeply respected across religious communities, regardless of denomination.

His passion for spreading the gospel extended internationally as a missionary in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, where he also carried out humanitarian work. Angel dedicated his life to public service, welcoming everyone regardless of race, color, or background. He never missed an opportunity to speak about the greatness of God.

Angel is survived by his beloved wife, Maria T. Cintron, and their five children: Robert, Carlos, Maritza, Angel, and Michelle. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who deeply loved and respected him.

He was preceded in death by his three sisters—Sara, Luz Maria, and Carmen—whom he affectionately called his “Barbie.”

A funeral service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home, 6241 SW College Rd, Ocala, FL 34476 on June 30th, 2025. Viewing will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Christian service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

A graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery on July 7th at 12:00 located at 93 Union Ave, New Windsor, NY 12553.

Known lovingly as “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Angel held a special place in their hearts. They were the only ones who could soften his tough exterior, and they adored him.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." – 2 Corinthians 5:8
