Angelina V. Patsalos, a longtime resident of the area, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Kaplan Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 82. She was born on October 4, 1930 in Newburgh, the daughter of William and Mary Vassell. Angelina was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend. Angelina was married to the Honorable Peter C. Patsalos for 52 years and together raised four children in Newburgh. She worked at Stewart Airbase for several years before getting married. Later in life, Angelina worked in the science department at SUNY New Paltz. She will be remembered as Angie' who loved to laugh. She is survived by her devoted husband, Peter C. Patsalos; her four children: a son, Dean Patsalos; daughter Ann Patsalos, her husband Dr. Stephen Eric Enriquez; daughter Jeanne Patsalos and her husband Vincent Trunzo; and Kristina Patsalos, and her husband Neal J. Wilkinson. Angelina had five beloved grandchildren: Peter Enriquez, Erica Enriquez, Benjamin Patsalos, Paige Wilkinson and Neal Peter Wilkinson. Angelina is also survived by her best friend and sister, Penelope Vassell; her brother Gus Vassell, his wife Lila, and son Bill; and sister Jenny Contis of California, and her husband Michael, along with their children. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11 from 4 to 7 pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 12 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Fullerton Avenue, Newburgh. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
