Angelo E. Mascioli

October 30, 1933 ~ September 26, 2024

Angelo E. Mascioli, son of the late Angelo Mascioli Sr. and Antonia Ramacci Mascioli, was born on October 30, 1933, in Newburgh, NY.

A lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Angelo proudly served on the Usher Society for over 60 years. He graduated from Newburgh Free Academy with the Class of 1952.

After high school, Angelo worked as a mechanic at Kahn Pontiac until being drafted for military service at the end of 1954. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, attending Machinist Mate School in Great Lakes, IL, before being assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Antietam (CV-36). After his discharge, Angelo worked at Chet Palozzo's Exxon Station, then as a machinist for J&H Smith Co., and later as a systems technician at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY. He worked there until his retirement.

Angelo was an active member of his community, belonging to the New Windsor American Legion Post 1796, Newburgh Elks Lodge #247 (Life Member), Circolo Cattolico Italiano, and Black Rock Fish and Game Club (Life Member). He enjoyed attending New York Giants football games, tailgating and cooking, and loved playing golf and poker.

Angelo is survived by his nephews Joseph Wagner and his wife Fern of Manchester Center, VT; Tony Wagner of Greenville, NC; Chester Palozzo and his wife Debbie of Hendersonville, TN; Anthony Palozzo and his wife Robin Reeves of Mineral Ridge, OH; and his great-nieces and nephews, Kimberly Wagner and Phil Lucks (and son Stu), Andrew Wagner, Allison and Barry Rokach, David and Penny Lockwood, Dominick Palozzo, Salvatore Palozzo, Vincent Palozzo, and Angela Palozzo. He is also survived by his great-great-niece and nephew, Ruby and Zachary Lockwood. He is remembered fondly by the entire family of his beloved companion, Virginia "Ginger" Pfeuffer.

He was predeceased by his beloved companion, Virginia Pfeuffer; his sisters, Nancy Mascioli, Clementina Palozzo and her husband Chet, and Mary Wagner and her husband Frank.

In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to hug a loved one, look deliberately into the eyes of a close friend to let them know you see them, and find it in your heart to forgive an old grievance.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6 from 1 - 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, October 7 at 10 AM followed by burial with military honors at Calvary Cemetery.
