Anna Lucera

Anna Lucera of New Windsor, NY entered through Heaven's gates peacefully on May 10, 2024. She was 97 years old.

Anna was born on May 9, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anna and Ciro Assante. In 1946, she met her husband of 61 years, Joseph, while dancing the night away at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.

During her life, Anna took great pride in her work at Lily of France and Rosenbaum's. She then went on to become a homemaker. Nothing made Anna happier than taking care of her family. She especially loved gathering everyone together around her table for Sunday dinners. If you knew Anna, then you know she would always make sure you were fed.

Anna is survived by her son, Dominick and his wife Faith, of New Windsor; daughter, Theresa and her husband John, of Newburgh; sister, Grace and her husband Don of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lucera; her daughter, Anna Dailey; sisters, Antoinette Iacono, Theresa Mignone, Concetta "Dolly" DiLorenzo, and Lucy Damone; brothers, Donald Assante and Mike Assante; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing for their care and compassion during Anna's time there.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 4-7pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 11:00am at Brooks Funeral Home, followed by entombment at Cedar Hill Mausoleum.
