Antonio Montalvo

The Gates of Heaven opened and welcomed a handsome soul with tambourines and dancing when Antonio Montalvo Lugo entered through on March 13, 2025. He was 99 years old.

Antonio Montalvo Lugo was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico on April 19, 1925. He was the son of Pedro C. Montalvo and Monserrate Lugo. At the age of 6 years old he moved to Las Marias, PR where he grew up and later met Ana Luisa Martir. When Antonio was 18 years old, he married Ana and they lived together for 80 years until she passed on December 29, 2024.

Antonio is survived by his two children he had with Ana; Pedro Montalvo (Luz Maria) and Lyda Montalvo-Correa (Luis). His grandchildren that he loved dearly, Luis Montalvo, Jesus Tirado Jr. (Julie), Annette Tirado-Lopez (Johnny), Pedro Montalvo (Linda), Kevin Tirado (Jeanette) and Damaris Montalvo-Pierce (Hardy), Robert Cancel, Daniel Correa (Maria) and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Antonio was a lifelong member of the Church of God Central Newburgh. He was a prayer warrior and always encouraged others to never stop praying. Antonio in his younger years was part of the prison ministry. He always loved to talk about God.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave on Sunday March 23, 2025, from 1PM to 4PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 24, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home at 10AM. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
