Aracelis "Sally" Rodriguez, 89, passed away at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx after a brief illness.

She was born on July 14, 1935 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico to Josefina Rodriguez Rivera and Jesus Maria Rivera.

On December 17, 1960 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, she married Mateo Rodriguez. She retired from Star Expansion in '97 after 19 years as a Machine Operator. She was a proud Teamster of Local 445, Rock Tavern, NY.

She was an avid and amazing gardener, a phenomenal cook; no one would go hungry in her home, and she was a die-hard New York Yankees' fan. She was also the greatest Grandma!

She is survived by her daughter, Naomi Rodriguez Asher and her husband, Louis Asher, granddaughters, Raquel Rodriguez Asher (Colleen Ferguson), Gabrielle Rodriguez Asher (Davian Torres), grandson, Jonathan Rodriguez Asher, brother, Leonardo Rivera (Migdalia Torres), cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. She is also survived by her grand-dogs, Diego, Dora, Max, and Ruby and her beloved, rabbit, Fiona.

She was predeceased by her parents, stepfather Sergio Rivera, son, Matthew Rodriguez, Jr. (2001), husband, Mateo Rodriguez (2002), brothers Carmelo Rodriguez, Sr. (2023), Gilberto Rivera and Anibal Rivera.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave, on Wednesday October 30 from 11AM to 1PM. A Graveside service will take place at 1:30PM at Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor.
