Barbara Marks, 93 passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 8, 2021. Barbara wasborn on March 19, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, but lived most of her life in Newburgh.
Barbara was very happily married to her husband, Stanley, for 60 years, who passed away 15 years ago. Barbara helped Stanley start and develop a well-respected CPA Firm, called Stanley Marks & Company in 1950. Barbara was the Firm's Bookkeeper and Office Manager for almost 25 years. They were later joined in business by sons Alan and David, who grew the Firm into one of the most premier accounting firms in the Hudson Valley. Stanley Marks & Company merged with PKF O'Connor Davies LLP in 2016, the 27th largest CPA Firm in the Country.
Barbara loved her wonderful life with Stanley. Together they traveled the world. But, she washappiest when she was in Newburgh with her family and friends.
Besides being a devoted wife, she was a cherished and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves a beautiful family legacy, including sons, Alan (Debbie), David (Robin), and Paul, grandchildren, Steven, Gregory, Marisa, Caroline, Sara, Matthew, Michael and Martin. She also had 9 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her close sister, Phyllis Keehn, of Boynton Beach, FL.
Barbara was known as a warm, caring, friendly, wise and beautiful woman. She will be greatly missed.
Due to COVID concerns, services and burial will be held privately by the family. There will be no Shiva visitation. Memorial contributions can be made to Temple Beth Jacob in Newburgh.
