Bernice H. Brannen of Newburgh NY, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022 with herfamily at her side. Bernice was born on April 22, 1929 to John Thomas and Mary Anastasia(O'Connor) Gleason and raised in her beloved Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.Bernice was educated at the Rideau Street Convent School in Ottawa. Post-graduation she wasemployed by the Canadian government in Ottawa, before moving to New York City andenjoying an exciting career as a flight attendant for American Airlines. She travelled extensivelyand developed bonds that lasted a lifetime. She was a woman of strong faith and a parishionerof Saint Patrick's /Mary's Church. Bernice had a kind and positive spirit, a great sense of humorand loved to laugh. She moved her family to Newburgh, NY in 1961 where she was blessed withthe most wonderful group of friends that she cherished throughout her life.Bernice is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Michael Donohue), son Michael, granddaughterCaroline O'Connor, brother Patrick Joseph and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents and siblings: Michael Arnold, Cecil Thomas, Murielle, Marjorie,Thomas O'Connor and Edward, and her nephew John Thomas.A memorial mass will be celebrated on December 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick's ChurchNewburgh, NY. She will be laid to rest with her family at Notre Dame Cemetery, Ottawa.
