Beverly Ann Morgan

June 17, 1941 ~ August 12, 2024

Beverly A. Morgan departed this life on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York after a brief illness.

Beverly was retired at home in Beacon, NY after a long and distinguished career at CBS News in New York City. Her career began as an assistant to Walter Cronkite at CBS, and ultimately retired as a producer for the CBS news program 60 Minutes. Beverly's love for family, fashion, and community activities, combined with a calming presence benefited all who knew her. Beverly is a graduate of Beacon High School, a member of the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Beacon, and supported many local churches and national charities. She was particularly fond of the ASPCA, and cared for multiple stray animals at her residence.

Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Johnson H. and Leatice K. Morgan of Beacon; her sisters, Louise Morgan and Dianne Simmons; and her brothers, Patrick, Donald, Sonny, Leonard, Giles, and Edward Morgan. She is survived by her brothers, Albert (Gloria) Morgan of Columbia, South Carolina and Charles Morgan of Poughkeepsie, NY; many nieces and nephews; and companion, Freddy McGrew.

Beverly will lie in repose at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, 37 Lamplight St, Beacon, on Monday, August 19 from 10 - 11 AM. A service will begin at 11 AM followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
