Brendella Hannible Gordon affectionately known as "Brenda" was born on March 17th, 1966 in Miami, Florida to the late Julia Mae Hannible and Willie Thames Jr. She entered into eternal rest on September 12th, 2024 at home with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Ms. Marion Hannible, son Kendrick Donyell Hannible and grandfather Mr. Willie Thames Sr. She attended D.C. Virgo later graduated from Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington NC. In 1988 Brendella relocated to Newburgh NY. During her lifetime Brendella was a manager at the Newburgh Walmart in the Infants Department. As a young lady Brendella accepted Christ into her life and became a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Coleman Briggs where she served faithfully on the Usher board and the Gospel Choir.
In later years Brendella then relocated back to Wilmington NC where she made it her forever home. In 2018 Brendella joined Valour Ministries of Grace Incorporated, where she became an ordained missionary and ready to serve God's kingdom under the leadership of Apostle Powell.
Brendella had a special talent for crafting. She loved making holiday wreaths. The joy she received and the smiles on her customers face was a blessing more than money can purchase.
Brendella leaves to cherish her memories: a husband, Samuel Gordon; daughter Tamika Hanebel of New Windsor NY; Son Kenneth Lewis Jr (Laquetta) of Hampstead NC; one granddaughter Zariah Wrancher of New Windsor NY; 2 fur grandbabies Lucky Charms Lewis and Nyla Bean Hannible; sisters: Darlene Robinson of Wilmington, NC, Belinda Robinson of Wilmington , NC,; Urshala Deloatch (Pershield) of Raleigh, NC, Sophia Thames of Wilmington NC, Teyana of Wilmington, NC, and Mary Deschamps (Marquis) of Wilmington, NC; brothers: Willie Thames Jr of Wilmington, NC, and Freddie Thames (Nicole) of Wilmington, NC; two special sisters and best friends, Tina Akins and Monique LoveJoy; a host of uncles, aunts, godchildren, nieces, nephews; and other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21 from 1 - 3 PM.
Final resting place will be in Wilmington, NC at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated.
