Carlos Santiago, Jr. passed away on September 14, 2025, at the age of 68 in Newburgh, NY in his home. Born on September 11, 1957, he was the cherished son of the late Carlos Santiago Sr. and Julia Santiago.

Carlos dedicated many years to his role as a Produce Manager at Shop Rite, where he was also respected as the Shop Steward. His commitment to his work was evident in his daily interactions and the meticulous care he took in his duties.

Outside of his professional life, Carlos had a passion for the simple joys in life. He was an avid fan of baseball and found great pleasure in both watching games and discussing the sport's intricacies. Carlos looked forward to his yearly cruises with his mother, a tradition that held a special place in his heart. Carlos enjoyed his leisure time with trips to Florida where he reveled in the warm sunshine.

Carlos is survived by his sister, Yvette Mortensen, brother-in-law Eric Mortensen, and nieces Melissa and Michelle Mortensen, as well as his nephew Joshua Byers. His family remembers him as a loving and devoted brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.

We will honor his memory, where family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Carlos can come together, on September 19, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh, NY.

Visitation is from 1-2pm. Funeral Home Service at 2pm, Graveside service at 2:30pm.

Graveside Service will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Route 9W, Newburgh, NY.
