Carlos Ernesto Guzman

Carlos Ernesto Guzman, 54, of Washingtonville, passed away on August 7, 2025. Born on March 26, 1971, Carlos lived life with a big heart, a sharp wit, and a joke always ready — sometimes the kind that made you roll your eyes, but always made you smile.

Carlos is survived by his loving parents, Ruben and Maria Guzman, who raised a son who could make anyone laugh, even in the middle of hard times. He will be forever missed by his sisters Nidzaida Guzman and Iris Guzman, who knew better than anyone that you could never win an argument with him… because he'd just turn it into a comedy routine.

He was the proud dad of Yolanda, Megan, Armani, and Leah — kids who inherited not only his stubbornness but also his humor and his big heart. He was also the favorite uncle (according to him) of Janixza, Amanda, Julian, Rey-Anthony, and Manny — all of whom could count on him for laughs, advice, and the occasional prank.

Carlos's gift was making people feel lighter just by being around him. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, then make fun of you for how bad it looked on you. Life wasn't always easy for him, but he faced it with resilience, humor, and love.

The family will gather to celebrate Carlos's life with laughter, stories, and maybe a few of his favorite songs. He would not want anyone to sit around in silence — he'd want you to smile, remember the good times, and maybe even tell one of his corny jokes.

A visitation will be held on Friday August 15th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.

A Mass of the Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Church at 10:00am on Saturday August 16th located at 42 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville, NY 10992

A burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery located at 2 Fr. Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, NY 10990.
