Carmen Saltares

Carmen D. Saltares, 76, of Newburgh passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital with her loving husband by her side. She was affectionately known as Delia.
Carmen was born on July 16, 1947 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico to Francisco and Bernardina (Sanchez) Ayala. In June of 1983, she married Rafael "Ralph" Saltares, the love of her life. For 37 years she was employed at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City as a financial advisor, and was named MVP Employee of the Month in 1990. Carmen was a devout Catholic, and also enjoyed art classes, yoga, music, and Salsa dancing. She greatly missed her beloved pet, Peanut.
Carmen is survived by her adoring husband, Rafael; children, Selene M. Alverio and Francine J. Saltares; grandchildren, Alexander Alverio and Summer I. M. Alverio; and too many other friends and loved ones to count.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge the Ayala Family, Rosado Family, Orellana Family, Peña Family, and Saltares Family.
