Carmine C. Lepore
January 12, 1947 ~ February 3, 2021
New Windsor, NY
Carmine C. Lepore entered into rest peacefully at home on February 3, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.
Carmine was born on January 12, 1947 in Rhinebeck, NY and was the only son to Donald and Eleanor Lepore. He was a 1965 graduate of Red Hook High School in Red Hook, NY and an alumnus of The University of Pittsburgh. He married the love of his life, Frances, on June 24, 1972 and they spent 48 blissful years together.
Carmine worked in sales for many years, but since his retirement cherished his most beloved role as a grandfather to his five adoring grandchildren. He never turned down a chance to see them and showed up for every event. He would always say his social life had become very busy since the grandchildren arrived. He was a die-hard Dodger fan and basked in the glory of their recent World Series win. Elvis was always playing in his car and no one dared to change the station.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, a dedicated father, and the best grandpa there ever was. Family meant everything to him. He spent countless days and nights coaching his daughters in softball. As a coach, his Bubble Tape, Dodger hat, coaching stance, and dedication will not be forgotten by all the players that he encountered during his years with New Windsor Girls Softball. He was respected and loved by all who were fortunate enough to call him coach.
His family was the center of his universe, followed by his friends. Dinners, trips, and visits were filled with wonderful memories. Sarcasm and humor were his love language, and if he was not busting your chops you were in the minority. While he was an only child by blood, he thought of his cousin Rodda as a younger, and would jokingly say, annoying sister.
Carmine is survived by his adoring wife Frances, his loving daughters Jennifer Sylvester and Courtney Zurlnick, his handsome sons-in-law Frank Sylvester and Steven Zurlnick, and his energetic grandchildren Arianna and Hailey Sylvester, and Christopher, Ella, and Jack Zurlnick.
He is predeceased by his father Donald Lepore, a Red Hook barber and devoted mother Eleanor Lepore.
At this time the family will be having a private wake and burial. A celebration of life will be taking place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made in his granddaughter Ella's honor to pay it forward within the special needs community. Donations can be made to Courtney Zurlnick c/o Ella Zurlnick at P.O. Box 216 New Milford, NY 10959.
