Obituary

Chantel Angelique Haight
July 16, 1963 ~ April 27, 2021
Newburgh, NY

Chantel Angelique Haight, age 57, passed away Tuesday April 27, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, NY. The daughter of Mary and William Cheatham, she was born July 16, 1963 in New York, NY.

Chantel is survived by her husband, Jerry Haight; her siblings: Elizabeth Ortiz and Floyd Cheatham; her children: Danielle Haight, Aaron Haight and Ariel Haight; grandchildren: Samson Velazquez, Hudson Haight, Micah Weissman, and more to come; as well as her other children, her pets, Bisou, Fabio and Hazel. Chantel enjoyed her many friends and worshipping as a Jehovah's Witness. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Edwards.

Chantel was currently an employee of Putnam County Family Courts, but her true passion was her booth, "The Booth," Retro Ecclectic at Newburgh Vintage Emporium.

Chantel Haight is a person who does not fit into words, expression, or the limits of paragraphs and letters. A woman who was and will always be her own language. A "junk" dealer, boarder line hoarder, a hustler, a professional yardsaler, a regular user of outdated slang, and proud owner of Retro Ecclectic at Newburgh Vintage Emporium. The Mother we all strive to be, who sacrificed everything for her family. The Grandmother and Aunt treasured by all. A loyal wife, with a bond that can only be known as Chantel&Jerry. A woman who raised the standard among woman. You used lyrics as a form of conversation. Anyone who overheard you sing was enchanted by the power of your song and the beauty of your voice. The meals you made, the gardens you grew, the interrogations you held...Chantel Haight, you are the bomb. YO! We miss you! You left us missing something... and everything. This world will always have slightly less color without your smile. Less laughter without your insults. We will always be reminded of you, from the smallest moments to the greatest memories.

" Loving Memories"

The voice is mute and stilled the heart,
That loved us well and true,
Ah, bitter was the trial to part
From one so good as you

You are not forgotten loved one
Nor will you ever be,
As long as life and memory last
We will remember thee.

We miss you now, our hearts are sore,
As time goes by we miss you more,
Your loving smile, your gentle face,
No one can fill your vacant place.
