Charles Kobes

June 15, 1940 ~ April 6, 2024

Charles Kobes, 83, of Newburgh, NY, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, in Yorktown Heights.

Charlie was born in Poland on June 15,1940 and was the son of the late Josef Kobes and Anna Kobes.

He was a truck driver most of his life and retired from Howard's Express. He enjoyed camping and fishing and taking day trips.

Charlie is survived by his sons Frank Kobes of Newburgh, Charles Kobes of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Nicole, Frank , Fallon, Tara, Josef and Jack; sisters, Krystyna Tompkins and Helen McGuiness; brothers, Zigmund Kobes and Robert Kobes; and his best friend and caregiver, Helen Jandrasits.

Charlie is predeceased by sister Marie Hutlas.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi church in Newburgh.  Burial to follow.
