In Loving Memory of Concepcion Matias Matias

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Concepcion, who passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, in Newburgh, NY, at the age of 83. Born in Añasco, Puerto Rico, Concepcion began a new chapter in her life when she moved to Beacon, NY, in 1974. She later settled in Newburgh, where she made her home and remained a cherished member of the community for the rest of her life.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Crucita Matias Vargas, along with her loving family and many dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Although her formal education was limited, Concepcion was an intelligent and resourceful woman who possessed remarkable wisdom. Her creativity, curiosity, and determination to learn and solve problems were evident throughout her life. She approached every challenge with resilience and ingenuity, inspiring those around her through her strength, perseverance, and unwavering spirit.

Above all, she was a loving and devoted mother to her six children: Gerarda, Milagros, Maria, Virgen, Margaret, and Johnny Jr. She was also a cherished grandmother of fifteen: Christina, Robert, Camille, Jesse, Marcos, Daniel, Isaac, Angelina, Gillian, Noel, Esteban, Isabel, Victor, Catalina, and Katherine, and she was a proud great-grandmother of six: Savannah, Samir, Taylor, Robby, Aliza, and Noah, with one more little blessing on the way. All of whom were an important part of her legacy and brought her immense joy.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Concepcion will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, kindness, and the unconditional love she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the values she instilled in those she loved.

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, she found strength in her beliefs and carried that faith throughout her life. She understood the importance of education and continually encouraged her children to pursue their studies and strive for a better future. Her wisdom, guidance, and example taught her family valuable lessons that will continue to live on through generations.

May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by God's love and reunited with her heavenly home, for which her faith faithfully prepared her.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts.
