Daniel S. Amato

June 18, 1954 ~ November 19, 2024

We remember Danny Amato, whose spirit departed from us on November 19, 2024 at the age of 70. Danny was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness.  He loved traveling, especially to his hometown Malta, Italy.

He was born June 18, 1954, to loving parents Louis Amato and Frederica Ferrigno.

Dan was a retired and highly respected long-term educator at Washingtonville High School, receiving his bachelor's and master's degrees at New Paltz University.

Dan was grateful to his cousin Vincent Doce and his wife Nancy Lee Doce, along with their children Darren, Stacy, Keith, and Jason. He is thankful for their continuing care and for including him in their holiday celebrations.

He is thankful for his continuing relationship with the Washingtonville School staff, his former students, and his college dorm mates, who have kept in contact during his illness.

A memorial visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, November 24 from 1 - 3 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, November 25 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
