Daria entered into eternal rest on Sunday June 29 2025.She was 60.

Daughter of Vernon and the late Felisha Sheley, Daria was born at Cornwall Hospital on August 25 1964 and attended New Windsor elementary school. Later she went on to Wallkill Middle and High School. She had a penchant for riding horses and attended the Oakland School where she was to win many trophies and ribbons.

From 1983 through 1991 she was a receptionist, billing coder and a assistant office manager to Dr S. Sharma.She then went to the Central Academy Beauty School but was unable to because of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

In 1990 she married Steven Galick at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh beginning her relationship with her Catholic faith.

She enjoyed rock music and Steven was a musician.

Over the next few years she would devote hours as a guardian of the blessed sacrament at Sacred Heart and pray within the church each day. Then she would attend to the stray cats behind the church, caring for them, adopting them and helping them to find homes in all types of weather day and night for years.

She was a lector at Sacred Heart and also she was a Marian Helper at The National Shrine of Divine Mercy MA as her heath permitted.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Steven, her Father Vernon, Uncle William Sheley, Uncle Albert Coritz and a nephew Billy Sheley.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 Sunday July 6 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday July 7 2025 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 301 Anne St.Newburgh NY followed by cryptside at Fishkill Rural Cemetery 801 Us-9 Fishkill NY 12524.
