Debra Mae Mullen

Debra Mullen, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, entered into rest on Saturday, February 3, 2024.  The daughter of the late Kenneth and Patricia (Lavelle) Mullen, she was born November 12, 1959 in Newburgh.

Debra was a 1979 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. She spent her life caring for the mentally challenged, and retired in 2017 as a Director for Hudson Valley Developmental Disabilities Services Office. She was an avid Bingo player and gambler, and loved to travel with her family. You could always depend on Debra for her love and support, and she will be forever missed.

She is survived by her son, Ulee Johnson; grandchildren: Jaddon Johnson and Ulee Johnson Jr., Niy'leah Morgan and Leylanni Mojica; great-grandson Jaddon Johnson Jr.; sisters: Linda Byrd, Lillian Parson and husband Edgar, Dawn Williams and husband Will, Marion Mullen, Danielle Evans, Donna Rafos and Margie McCord; a host of nieces and nephews; and dear friend Alicia Copeland.

Visitation will be held from 10 am - 12 pm on Friday, February 9 at Church of God by Faith, 29 Bridge St., Newburgh, NY 12550. A service will be held at 12 pm at the church, with burial following in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
