August 11, 1930 ~ July 5, 2026
Delia, a current resident of Newburgh NY was a devoted mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 5th at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New York City to the late Celestina and Luis Yambay, lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and community. She was a devout Catholic whose grace, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her rosary was never far from her side, and her life was a living testament to the values of compassion, selflessness, and unconditional love.
Above all, Delia cherished her family. She was the cornerstone of her home, dedicating her life to nurturing her children and grandchildren and witnessing them grow. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, the comfort of family meals, and the enduring traditions of her faith. Whether offering gentle wisdom, a listening ear, fervent prayer, or hollering at the top of her lungs, she was a constant source of strength and shelter for her loved ones.
She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents, Luis and Celestina, her grandson, Michael Antonelli, her husband, George Sifre, her sisters, Carmen, Anna, Rosie, Doris and Virginia Yambay, her nephews Junior, Tommy, Luis, Angelo, Robert, Mickie, and Carlos and her brother-in-law Ramon Pinero.
Her legacy of love and faith will be forever cherished by her children: Teresa Sifre and Delilah Forti; her step-children: George Sifre, Rick Sifre, Linda Cardona, and Debbie Flynn; her adored grandchildren: Cristian, Angelina, Ben, Vinny, Adriana and Jonathon; her great grandchildren: Anthony, Aiven and Lincoln and surviving siblings: Christina and Alfonso Yambay and a large community of extended family and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
