Obituary

Dominick DeAngelo, of Newburgh, a long time area resident, entered into rest on Friday, December 20, 2013. He was 88. Son of the late Frank and Antonette DeAngelo, he was born March 7, 1925 in Corona, NY. He was married to the late Theresa Mannese, who predeceased him in 2011. Dominick served in the US Army during WWII, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. In civilian life, he worked at West Point until retirement. Dominick was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. Survivors include his brother-in-law, Angelo Cappello; sisters-in-law, Camela DeAngelo, Sue Bishop and Bina Mannese; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Theresa, Dominick was predeceased by three brothers: William Miele, Pete Miele, and Angelo DeAngelo, and four sisters: Angelina Miele, Minnie Antonelli, Josephine Guadagno and Jennie Magliato. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 26 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 27 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Memorial contributions in Dominicks memory may be sent to Sacred Heart Church, 301 Ann St., Newburgh, NY 12550.
