Dominick "Nick" Lease of New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 5, 2016, in St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, at the age of 94. Nick was born on Lake Street in Newburgh on March 7, 1922, son of the late Michael and Carolyn (Revell) Lease. He was married to his loving wife, the late Stella Szuba, of Fall River, MA, whom he married on April 29, 1945, in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Nick proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 - 1945. While aboard the destroyer, USS Barney 149, he made many memories and enjoyed sharing stories of his experiences with us. He was a member of the New Windsor American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie and Fishkill for 35 years, retiring in 1987. Survivors include his children, Thomas Lease and wife, Christine, of Staatsburg, NY, Linda Tarsio and husband, Patrick, of Newburgh, NY, and Donna Sheplock and husband, John, of Cary, NC; brother, Patrick Lease, of St. Petersburg, FL, sister, Mary Bowe and husband, Thomas, of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren: Kristen Moore and husband, Dan, Heather Lease, Patrick Tarsio and wife, Tracy, Pamela, Linda, Michael, and William Tarsio, and Lauren and Alyssa Sheplock; great grandchildren: Emily, Patrick and Ryan Tarsio; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Stella, and his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Anthony, Leonard, Michael and John. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, November 8 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, November 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nick's memory to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
