Donald L. McMillen, Jr. of New Paltz, entered into rest on June 18, 2023. Son of the late Donald L. and Rita Mildred (Fox) McMillen, Donald was born in Cornwall, NY on December 24, 1940. Donald grew up in Middlehope NY and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. Donald retired after many years working for the New York State Division of Youth as a water plant operator. He was past president and a life member of the Middlehope Fire Company.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sandy (Shaw) who survives at home; his daughter, Amy Snow (Wes) of Edison, Ohio; sisters, Judy Roscino (Dom) of Newburgh and Mildred Walsh (Jim) of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; grandchildren, Amber Snow (she was the love of grandpa's life), Andrew Kovalsky, William Evans (Abby), Nicole Bleiweis (Mark), and Joseph Ajar (Kristin); great-grandchildren, Nick and Ellie Kovalsky, Lucas Bleiweis, Cooper and Oliver Ajar, and Henry Colt Evans; step-children Kathi Evans (Bill) of Middlehope and Joe Ajar (Michele) of Howell, NJ; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Donald's request, a good old Irish sendoff will be held in his memory at the Middlehope Firehouse at a date that will be determined later and announced to the family.
