Donna J. "Dee" Powles (née Strickland), aged 64, passed away peacefully at her home in Newburgh, NY, on December 30, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. Born on January 4, 1961, in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Donald and June Strickland.

Dee was a vibrant and quick-witted individual, known for her loyalty and outgoing nature. She graduated from Martin Luther High School and later earned a degree from St. John's University. Dee dedicated 25 years of her professional life to banking before transitioning to the business office at Chester Union Free School District, where she made significant contributions.

A devout member of the First Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, NY, Dee was deeply involved in her church community, embodying her faith in her daily life.

Dee is survived by her husband, Peter E. Powles; stepson, Peter N. Powles; grandson, Jose Evan Mora; granddaughter, Stephanie Powles; and cousins, Bonnie Huber and Wendy Carrier. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh, NY, is assisting the family with arrangements. Dee's life and legacy will be celebrated in a manner befitting her spirited and loving nature, details of which will be announced. Dee will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering kindness.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9th from 4:00~7:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 6:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY.
