Dorothy M. Spignardo, 93, of New Windsor, passed away on August 8, 2023. Born on January 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Margaret Zilavy. On September 19, 1948, she married Ernest G. Spignardo at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh.
Dorothy was a graduate of Newburgh schools, a retired Assis-tant Court Clerk from the New York State Family Court, past president of the New Windsor American Legion Auxiliary, a past member of the New Windsor Lioness Club, as well as a member of St. Joseph's Church in New Winsor.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Margaret A. Spignardo; her beloved nieces and nephews, Ernest Spignardo, Donna Palmer, Gloria Parisi, and Joseph Parisi; several other nieces and nephews; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Gus and Margaret Zilavy, and her husband, Ernest G. Spignardo.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Monday, August 14 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Church, followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to St. Joseph's Church or St. Francis Church, for maintenance and repairs.
