Dwayne David Handley

September 27, 1960 ~ April 29, 2025

Dwayne David Handley passed away in his home in Walden, NY at the age of 64 years old on April 29, 2025.

This was the home that he drove by as a young boy on his bicycle and told himself that one day it would be his. The house was enormous but so were his dreams. Surely enough he bought that house at the age of nineteen years old when he used his brilliant entrepreneurial brain to start an innovative underground utility construction company at a time where underground cable was just making headway. He didn't stop there. He went on to invest in the real estate market, buy airplanes, marry a beautiful kindhearted woman, have four children, and obtain his pilot's license.

He was a man with a lot of depth, a lot of passion, and a lot of wisdom. His two favorite sayings were "do as I say not as I do" and "a penny saved is a penny earned." He will always be remembered for his relentlessness, tenacity, love for Elvis, and incredible sense of humor.

He was survived by his wife Debra Handley, four children Meghan Ackerman and husband Steve Ackerman, Jillian Handley, Nichole Joyce and husband Tommy Joyce, James Handley, his ten grandchildren Stevie Ackerman, Ryan Ackerman, Blake Ackerman, Paul Esposito, Emma Esposito, Christian Esposito, Kamden Ackerman, Karter Ackerman, Holly Joyce, and Tom Joyce, his mother Leah Conklin, step father Gary Conklin, father David Handley, and step mother Jackie Worthington and siblings Yvonne Marse, Russell Handley, Roger Handley and Kim Estrada.

Private services will be held by his immediate family.
