EDGARDO (EDDIE) VEGA - 82 YEARS OLD    

    NEW WINDSOR , NEW YORK    

    Passed peacefully in his sleep at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, New York on October         16, 2025    

  Edgardo (Eddie) Vega was born on December 2, 1942 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to Leonides Vega and Saturnina Pagan who has since predeceased him.  

  Edgardo is survived by a very large and loving family; all of whom he loved to spend time with every chance he could.  He had three wonderful sisters: Inez Vega, Matilde Vega and Migdalia Sollicito.  Eddie also has four beautiful children: Edgardo Vega Jr., Norma Vega, Noel Vega and Nicholas Vega.  Eddie also is also survived by three amazing grandchildren, from his daughter Norma there is Gabrielle and Victoria  and from his son Noel there is Siena.  Edgardo is also survived by a Nephew and Many Nieces and even more Grand and great-grand Nieces and Nephews than he could have ever have imagined he would ever get to watch grow up and have in his life.  

  Eddie enjoyed spending time with his family having fun, laughing and joking around. He had a love for boats and ships, and telling his stories from sailing the world as a merchant marine when he was younger.  Eddie just like the rest of us truly enjoyed the simple things in life like his morning coffee, his shows about history, and his conversations about what was happening around the world. He loved watching his grandchildren grow up. helping his daughter fix her home with his middle son Noel , her brother.  He loved watching his youngest son,  Nicholas , play baseball and shared their love of watching a good Baseball game together.  He loved watching his Nephew and Nieces and their children grow up.  

  Eddie always enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and loved each and everyone of them in his own way.  

  I am sure we will all miss his presence in our own way, as each of us had our own special relationship with him. So let us now each say our goodbyes to him in our own individual way. So that he may know the special role he played in each of our lives through out the course of his lifetime.  

  A visitiation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm located at 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh, NY 12550.
