Edward Makarewicz

November 28, 1937 ~ February 8, 2024

Edward Makarewicz went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2024 after a very long illness.  He was born on November 28, 1937 having 86 years to spend with family and friends.  He was the son of Stanley Makarewicz and Josephine Pulski Makarewicz. He worked for the Department of Transportation for over 40 years as a driver, snow plow operator, and bridge crew maintenance worker.
Edward loved dogs,  especially older smaller dogs.  They were the center of his world. He adopted and spoiled them to death. He cooked for them and gave them wonderful and full lives.
Ed was predeceased by his only son Kenneth Makarewicz, sisters Anna Cardamone, Helen Zilavy, and Gertrude Reynolds. Brothers Stanley Makarewicz, and John Makarewicz.
He is survived by his sister Alice Cook, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services through Brooks Funeral Home will be private as per the family's request. Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Cemetery in New Windsor.
