Edwyn Lewis Pierce
"Eddie" Fast Eddie" Duh Ed Duh"
April 10, 1964 ~ December 21, 2024
Edwyn Lewis Pierce 60 years young of Newburgh, NY peacefully passed away with the comfort of his 2 daughters by his side on December 21, 2024 at Vassar Brother's Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Eddie was born to his mother, Carolyn Anne (Smith) Thorne and Father Lewis Pierce in Orange County, NY on April 10, 1964.
Eddie attended the Newburgh Free Academy class of 1982 with many friends and fun memories. Eddie had many hobbies, interests, and loves that ensued during his time here. Generously including Rock N' Roll. When young his walls were to have said to have many Rock posters from his favorite bands! He loved to listen to music, sing, write songs, and poems. Eddie pursued his love of music through many local bands like "The Sugar Beats" and on main stages with greats like "Twisted Sister", and many more. He would tour all over the country being "the light of the shows" working as a light engineer for their concerts. In his off time, he loved to support musicians and attend concerts, many of them locally at a loved venue, "The Chance" in Poughkeepsie, NY and Orange County Choppers or "OCC Café" in Newburgh, NY. He always tried testing his luck with the lotto and betting on horses at OTB and Saratoga Racetrack. Eddie enjoyed making those close to him laugh! He certainly made strangers laugh plenty too with his curated jokes as a self-created character named "Chester Chew" on WHUD 107.3 he would make frequent appearances. He toured to local comedy clubs across the Hudson Valley and his short time in Utah spreading his joy to others. He was a creative individual who found a talent for painting residential and commercial properties with ease and was very proud of his work. Eddie was all smiles, goofy jokes, positivity, and happiness when spending time with his daughters fishing, attending local buffets, movies, the Renaissance Faire, bowling, Chuck E. Cheese, and other various activities. He loved animals, spiritualism, and art of all kinds. He was proud to accomplish many years of sobriety and health obstacles with a mindset of positivity, strength, and pursuit of faith.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Kayla Pierce and Rayna Pierce of Gardiner, NY; and his Aunt Deb and Uncle Martin of Haverstraw, NY. He is also survived by many dear friends including but not limited to: Todd, Jessica, Frank, Randy, Amanda, Noel, Dave, Rob, Stacey, Tom, Ben, Tracey, Lori Ann, Ellen, Torri, Judy, Larry, Kurt, and many more who he loved endlessly.
Eddie is predeceased by his mother Carolyn Anne (Smith) Thorne; Father Lewis Pierce; and baby sister Heather Marie Thorne. All of whom he believed he would one day have a heavenly reunion with when his time had come.
A special heartfelt thank you to his "Army of Angels" awaiting near the phones who were always there for him. A special heartfelt thank you to the team of nurses who took care of him through his journey. He loved and appreciated you all very much, so much so he left you all a final dedicated poem.
