Coppa
December 2, 1951 – November 5, 2023
Eileen Patricia Coppa, 71, of Milton, NY, formerly of Brewster, NY, passed away at home on November 5, 2023.
Eileen was born December 2, 1951, in the Bronx, New York, to the late Tom and Marion O'Halloran (Durkin). Eileen enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by her loving family including her parents, siblings, grandmother, aunts, uncles, and many dear cousins with whom she loved to share a multitude of stories and memories.
Eileen was a friendly, outgoing, funny, loving, and caring individual. She had a warm personality and could make anyone feel at ease and welcome around her. She had a vibrant sense of humor and her presence could light up any room. Eileen was employed for many years at St. Lawrence O'Toole School in Brewster, NY as the beloved lunch lady and volunteered her time there as a CCD teacher as well. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family fiercely. She was known to often nag Vinny about gardening; she loved hosting family and friends to celebrate holidays, especially St. Patrick's Day, and decorating for Christmas. In addition to spending time with Grayson and Alex, her hobbies included cooking, ceramics and arts and crafts, watching Gilmore Girls, and enjoying an ice cold Diet Coke.
Eileen is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Vinny; her sons Thomas (Jess) of Buchanan, NY and John James (Nicole) of Newburgh, NY; her grandsons Grayson and Alex; siblings JeanMarie (Ramiz) Danial of Yonkers, NY, John (Diana) O'Halloran of Hawthorne, NY, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. In addition to her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her brother Jimmy and sister Patricia. Eileen was a great source of love and support for her family, and her presence will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Eileen's name to a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, November 10 from 4-7pm, with a service to be held at 6:30pm.
