Elaine "E" Francis Sommer, 79 of New Windsor, NY, entered into rest Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at home. The daughter of the late Morris and Sadie (Silber) Rosen, she was born September 16, 1937 in Bronx, NY. A wonderful mother, grandmother and woman who was the head and the heart of the entire family. She was the moral compass that we all live by, and will be sadly missed. Elaine is survived by her husband, Samuel Sommer; her children, Marlene Sommer, Linda Davis, Jane DiNezza, Karen DuBray, Robert Sommer, Stephen Sommer and Eugene Sommer; her brother Joel Rosen; 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, July 10 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, with a service at 7:30 pm.
