Frances York Bouton
April 10, 1932 ~ November 30, 2025
Frances York Bouton was welcomed into God's arms on Sunday evening, the 30th of November 2025, at the age of 93. She was surrounded by her devoted and loving family. Frances was born in Newburgh, NY on the 10th of April 1932. She was the beloved daughter of the late Byron and Christine York.
She graduated from Mary Burnham School for Girls and then continued on to college. Frances enjoyed riding horses as a young girl. She was an aquatics swimmer, tennis player, bridge player, and lover of all sports. She was a lifelong member of the Powelton Club and adored everything about it. Throughout her long life, she spent countless days there with family and friends - enjoying lunches, sharing laughter, and savoring wonderful moments on the front porch while watching tennis and golf. The club truly became her home away from home, a place filled with comfort, joy, and cherished memories.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Bouton Sr., her son, Donald H. Bouton Jr., and her sister Barbara York Whistler.
Frances is survived by her three children, Linda Bouton Jacobs and her husband Stephen, William Arend Bouton and his wife Carol, and Patricia Leigh Bouton. Her grandchildren William and Zachary Bouton, Alexa Bouton Israelski and her husband Sean, and Alex and Jesse Lappin. Her siblings, Beverly York Cobb and Byron J. York. Her extended family, David and Tania Salazar.
Frances will remain in the hearts of her family, who are deeply grateful for the time they shared with her and for the lasting example of devotion, grace, and love she gave to all of them.
May she rest in peace, embraced by the same warmth, beauty and joy she brought into the world.
In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Zsuzsanna Sidlo for her guidance, compassion, and tenderness she showed during a very difficult time. They also extend heartfelt thanks to the 3rd floor nursing staff at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for their exceptional care and support.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.
A funeral service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church at 10:00am on Friday, December 5th at 44 Balmville Road, Newburgh, followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Rt. 9W, Newburgh.
