Franklin Martin, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Friday, September 23, 2016. He was 65. Son of the late Casill and Mabel (Deyo) Martin, he was born October 27, 1950 in Newburgh. He was married to the late Patcie Garrett-Martin, who predeceased him in 2010.Franklin leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Coretta Williams-Lewis of Cornwall; his sister, Elaine Turner and her husband Charles of Philadelphia, PA; his brothers, Wilbur Nelson of Newburgh and Herbert Martin and his wife Loretta of Poughkeepsie; granddaughter Shakara Williams of Newburgh; two great-granddaughters Aliyaah McDonald and Chloe Jones of Newburgh; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents and wife Patcie, he was predeceased by his brothers, Casill Martin Jr., William Nelson, Douglas Nelson, John P. Nelson Jr., and Charles Nelson; and his sisters, Charlotte Nelson, Mary Lee Martin, and Juanita Lewis. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am on Tuesday, September 27 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, with a service at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
