Fredrick A. Cross, 75, a Newburgh, NY resident for over 54 years, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 9, 2023.

Fred was born a son of a farmer on November 17, 1947 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to the late Keith Cross and Marjorie (Johnson) Cross, both from Mallard, Iowa.

Following his graduation from Mallard High School, Fred enlisted and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, serving time in Vietnam and at Stewart Field in Newburgh where he met his loving wife, Linda Brady, who survives him at home. Following his discharge, Fred started his career with Texaco, having held various positions at Newburgh, White Plains and Beacon. Following 32 years of service, Fred retired in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking/carpentry, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Fred was a patriotic American with old time country values.

In addition to his wife, Linda, Fred is survived by his loving five children and 12 wonderful grandchildren. His sons, Frederick Cross Jr. and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Jamesville, NY, Brian Cross and daughter-in-law AnnMarie of Modena, NY, and Sean Cross and daughter-in-law Amanda of Newburgh, NY; daughters, Deborah Labar and son-in-law Paul of Fishkill, NY and Sheri Goslar and son-in-law Rhett of Pine Bush, NY. Fred is also survived by two brothers, Ronald of Mallard, Iowa and Reginald of Storm Lake, Iowa; and a sister, Judith of Pine Bush, NY.
