George H. Quintyne

George Hallam Quintyne, passed away on January 3, 2025. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

George was born on October 20, 1930, in Barbados, West Indies, where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend college and later became an engineer with NYNEX. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.

But more than anything, George was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren sharing stories, playing games, and watching their favorite TV shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In his free time, George enjoyed completing projects around the house and napping in his lounge chair.   He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community and was a devoted member of The Knights of Columbus Council 444.

George is survived by his loving wife, Olivia Quintyne, his children, grandchildren, brother, sisters and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 7th, 2024, at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave from 4PM to 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Church 301 Ann St, Newburgh on Wednesday January 8th at 10 AM. Burial Will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
