George R. Terry, 85, died Saturday December 7, 2024, at the Montgomery Nursing Home following a long illness.

George was born June 9, 1939, in Tannersville, NY to the late George E. and Thelma (Woodworth) Terry.

George was a 1958 graduate of the Storm King Schools.

He married Marilyn V. Bliss on July 13, 1975, at St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh. George was a diehard Mets fan. He loved traveling, attending country concerts, and playing cards with family and friends. He bowled for 40 plus years, where he met his wife, and was inducted into the Mid-Hudson Bowling Hall of Fame.

George is survived by his wife Marilyn, sister-in-law Helene Janet Horaz and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law Robert Horaz.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that you plant a tree in George's honor, or you donate to a charity of one's choice in George's honor.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 12th at the Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave, from 11AM to 1PM. A Funeral Home Service will take place at 1PM with Pastor Richard Letts officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery 5468 Rt 9W North, Newburgh.
