Gerald W. Buote

Gerald "Jerry" Buote of Newburgh, NY passed away on September 13, 2024.

He was born on May 2, 1944 in Medford, Massachusetts to Florina (Ritchotte) and Albert Paul Buote.

He attended Bently College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1972, and Suffolk University, where he earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1977. In May of 1993 he married Arlene Riccardi. He was employed at Marsh McLennan for many years. He enjoyed watching westerns; being in nature; golfing; and traveling.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Arlene F. Buote; sister-in-law, Colleen Riccardi; brother-in-law, Michael McKay; niece, Natasha N. Paukovits; nephew, Brandon E. Paukovits; grand-niece, Madison R. Monk; and family friends: Robert A. McCarthy, Joseph R Gilbert, and Sheryle & Billy Ranke.

He is predeceased by: his mother, Florina Buote; father, Albert Buote; mother-in-law, June E. Riccardi; father-in-law, Nicholas R. Riccardi; sister-in-law, Jill L. McKay; brother-in-law,  James N. Riccardi; and brother-in-law, Eric C. Paukovits.

Special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital; Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties; Brook's Funeral Home; and all his close family and friends who made this transition of life easier on the family.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18 from 4 - 6 PM, with a prayer service being led by Pastor Keni Epp, of Grace Community Church, beginning at 6 PM. A memorial gathering will be held at Captain Jake's Restaurant, 40 Front St., Newburgh, following the service.
