Glenn Stephen Giametta, owner of Genie Industrial Supply in Newburgh, NY, and lifelong resident of the area, entered into rest on Saturday, February 17, 2024. He was 71. The son of the late Fred and Helen Giametta, Glenn was born November 14, 1952 in Newburgh, NY.
Glenn graduated from Marlboro High School in 1970 and moved to Florida where he attended the University of Miami. While living in Miami, Glenn waited tables at The Depot and loved telling stories of his time there. Upon his return to New York, Glenn graduated from Mount Saint Mary's College. In the 1990s he started his own business, Genie Industrial Supply. Glenn took great pride in his business and treated his employees, suppliers and customers like family.
Glenn loved his family and was dedicated to upholding tradition and keeping the family history alive. Glenn loved hosting family parties and was famous for his baked clams and homemade pizza. Glenn was a generous soul who always had a joke to share.
Survivors include his former wife Cora Dalton of Long Beach, NY, and their son Jeff Giametta and his wife Rochelle of Portland Oregon; three brothers Fred Giametta and his wife, Mary Lynn, of Marlboro, John Giametta and his wife Donna, of Cold Spring, and Gerald Giametta and his wife, Donna of Marlboro; three beloved grandchildren: Matteo, Ellise, and Gabriel; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22 from 4 - 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Church on Friday, February 23 at 10 AM, followed by interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
