Gloria Maria Williams

Gloria Maria Williams, of Newburgh, New York, passed away on Friday, July 28th at the age of 93.
The youngest daughter of 11 children, Gloria was born on January 30th, 1930, to Eduardo Diaz DeLeon and Deonicia Ayala in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
Gloria came to the United Sates in 1953, moving to Bronx, NY, where she began her career as a certified cosmetologist. In 1955, she was introduced to Joseph Westely Taft Williams and they were married in 1956, welcoming their first and only child, John Williams, in 1957.
In 1978, Gloria became a certified family care provider, opening her home to individuals with special needs. Her career as a caregiver spanned a period of 35 years, with her accepting more than a dozen individuals into her heart, home and family. She was a devout Christian who had a great love and respect for the church and her faith.
Gloria is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Westely Taft Williams, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Tina Lorraine Williams, as well as her niece, Sophia White and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her son John, 4 granddaughters, Iasha, Juanita, Victoria, and Anntoinette, 2 grandsons, Johnathan and Jarred, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Crossroads Assembly of God on Friday, August 4 from 12:30 - 1:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 2 PM.
