Obituary

Greg Scott Ryan
Greg Scott Ryan 49 of Kingston NY passed into the Lord's hands October 25,2023 at his home.
Greg was born on January 8,1974 in a tiny hospital in Liberty, New York. He graduated from Marlboro High School. Greg was the cherished son of Rexanne and Frank Foti. Greg was so multifaceted, a brilliant, shining living kaleidoscope in human form. His humor was witty, sharp hysterical yet he was as courtly as as 18th century gentleman. The first to jump up to help, serve, open a door.
Greg painted sentences with words so mind blowing beautiful or realistically raw that the reader had to stop to take it in. He loved sending letters and postcards to loved ones, sometimes so poignantly piercing they became treasured keepsakes. Greg sang like an angel, played the guitar, piano, wrote music and published two books. He was working on his third and favorite book.
Greg was loved by so many. He had real "brothers " of the heart .His brother Brendan Bliss said " Greg was a unique, unbreakable spirit, a super nova of creative energy and master of imagination.
His brother, Martin Munroe wrote " Greg was a force of nature. The Saturn or Jupiter in our personal solar systems. His energy was strongly felt by everyone in his orbit and will continue to be felt. The lights twinkling in the sky are said to be expired stars, yet they still bring joy and wonder to our heart. Greg Scott Ryan is one of them now, and his his light will shine on forever."
Greg loved his job at the Kingston Bread +Bar. He once said " I never thought I would smile after a day at work like I do now." The owners were his friends.
Greg is survived by his beloved mother, Rexanne Foti and father, Frank Foti; his maternal grandmother, Ruthann Cosman; aunts and uncles, Donna and Dave Mead, Nancy and Chuck Benfer, Katie and Doug Benfer, Rob Benfer, Rosemarie Foti, Cindy Dreher and Joe Foti; and so very many loved cousins.
Greg was predeceased by his beautiful sister, Sharon Renee Ryan; his maternal grandfather, Charles Frederick Benfer; paternal step grandfather, Cal Cosman; paternal grandparents, Mary and Joseph Foti; his aunt, Theresa Clavio; and uncle, Dominic Foti.
