Ioannis Kantarakias

April 27, 1964 ~ March 11, 2026

Ioannis Kantarakias, age 61, of New Windsor, New York, passed away on March 11, 2026.

Born on April 27, 1964, in Brooklyn, New York, Ioannis lived a life defined by love, laughter, and steadfast devotion to his family. He was funny, intelligent, compassionate, irresistibly handsome, and a hard worker whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around him. Known affectionately by many as "Mr. Beast," Ioannis took great pride in his career as a Locomotive Engineer with Metro‑North Railroad, where his dedication, professionalism, and larger‑than‑life personality earned him deep respect and admiration.

Above all else, Ioannis cherished his family. He is lovingly remembered by the love of his life, his wife, Laura Kantarakias, whose partnership, love, and friendship meant everything to him. He will be deeply missed by his son, John Kantarakias, and daughter‑in‑law Jessica Kantarakias, and their children Madison, Luna, and Layla. He is also remembered by his daughter, Lilly Noble, her husband Christian Noble, and their daughter Ella Noble, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Ioannis is remembered with love by his mother, Yolanda Kantarakias; his brother, George Kantarakias, sister‑in‑law Susan Kantarakias, and niece Veronica Kantarakias. He is also fondly remembered by his brother‑in‑law, Michael "Pretty Boy" Rohlinger, his sister‑in‑law Claudia Rohlinger, and their daughter Emma Rohlinger. He is lovingly remembered by his mother‑in‑law, Lee Rohlinger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dimitrios Kantarakias, and his father‑in‑law, Michael Rohlinger.

Ioannis had a deep love for his family, a curious mind that delighted in conspiracy theories, a lifelong appreciation for Elvis Presley, and a genuine passion for helping people. His humor, kindness, intelligence, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
