Isabel (Alvarez) Nott, whose life was filled with joy, generosity, and purpose, passed away on Thursday, July 31, at the age of 85.
Born on June 26, 1940, in Manhattan, Isabel was the beloved eldest daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Alvarez and she will be remembered with deep affection for her vibrant personality, joyful laughter that could light up any room, and the unwavering love she shared with friends and family.
Beyond her life as a devoted mother and wife, Isabel was the joyful face behind the reception desk at Copans & Company. She was deeply committed to her role at the company serving with loyalty and pride for nearly 25 years. Her warm smile and kind words made every visitor feel instantly at home.
Outside of work, Isabel was an avid admirer of the arts. Her love for music was a constant in her life, and the timeless voice of Frank Sinatra was a favorite companion. Whether humming in the kitchen or singing full-heartedly at family gatherings, her voice was a gift she shared generously.
Today, Isabel joins loved ones who passed before her including her beloved parents and husband Charles Nott as well as sisters, Dolores Bayer and Rosemarie Aldrich. Isabel is survived by her brother, Andrew Alvarez along with three loving children: Andrew Miguel and his partner Frank Chiappetta of Mount Vernon, NY; Isabel Javinett and her husband Victor of Marlboro, NY; and Kenyon Nott and his wife Robyn of Wallkill, NY. Isabel was a devoted grandmother to 7 grandchildren: Austin, Gabriella, Emma, Nicole, Lily, Brooke and Oakley; and two great grandchildren, Adrianna and Finley.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh. Funeral service will commence at noon the following day at Pinelawn Cemetery on Long Island.
