Isidoro Lauria, age 91, entered into rest on March 8th, 2023 in the comfort of his home with his wife of 64 years and children by his side.
Isidoro was born October 22nd, 1931 in Santo Stefano Quisquina, Sicily to the late Domenico and Angela Lauria. He married Adelina (Maria) Comparetto on April 4th, 1959 in Santo Stefano, Sicily and immigrated to NY shortly after marriage.
Isidoro co-founded Torino Bakery in 1970 with his 2 brothers-in-laws Salvatore Geraci and Ignazio Comparetto, where they built a successful business of 52 years. He enjoyed gardening (especially his tomato plants), was an avid reader, walking in his favorite stores, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Isidoro is survived by his wife Maria Lauria; his sons Domenico of Walkill, Maurizio and his wife Jennifer of Newburgh, daughter Angela Labarbera of New Windsor, hissisters Rosalia of Newburgh and Maria of Torino Italy; grandchildren Massimo, Amanda, and Michael Lauria; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12th at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13th at Sacred Heart Church, with entombment following in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
