Ismael Escanio,
Sr.
May 15, 1929 – December 23, 2024
Ismael Escanio, Sr.
May 15, 1929 ~ December 23, 2024
What a glorious celebration! A beautiful homecoming took place as Ismael Escanio entered heaven's gates on Monday, December 23, 2024.
Ismael Escanio was born in Puerto Rico on May 15, 1929, to Victoria and Manuel Escanio and although his childhood was difficult, from that he created a life of strength, honor, dignity and most of all, dedication to the Lord.
Ismael was blessed to marry Hulda Isabel Lugo on September 30th, 1950, and from that love had a family of three children, Ismael Jr. (Betsy), Miriam (Carlos Sr.), and Evelyn (Felix Sr.) and were greatly blessed with seven grandchildren, Carlos Jr. (Angela), Magaly (Marc), Felix Jr. (Kara), Christina, Victoria (Jerry), David (Joanna), and Jonathan. Their grandchildren made them even happier with ten great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Ismael and Hulda's love story of seventy-four years is a beautiful example Mark 10:8 "and the two shall become one flesh." Their dedication to one another, and to God, are a true example to the generations of family who love them.
Throughout his career, Ismael worked for the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City for over 40 years and partnered in two family businesses. His diligence and faithfulness made him successful in all his endeavors.
Ismael treasured his most important role as a child of the King, and his Godly example will be cherished by all who knew him.
Please join us as we celebrate the life and gentle spirit of Ismael Escanio on Monday, December 30th from 6-7pm for a viewing and visitation with a service beginning at 7pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 31st at 9am. The services will be held at Grace Community Church, 128 Old South Plank Road, Newburgh, NY.
The family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to JB Decena of Hudson Valley Hospice for everything he has done over the past several years. Words cannot do justice in thanking you for your loving care so please just know, we count you as family.
Please consider a donation to the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation in Ismael's name as they took amazing care of him over the past years. Another wonderful organization would be the Alzheimer's Association, in hopes of a future cure.
