Isolina A. Ramirez Acosta

May 5, 1919 ~ May 2, 2024

Isolina A. Ramirez de Acosta of New Windsor entered into rest on May 2, 2024. She was 104 years old.

Isolina was born on May 5, 1919 in San Pedro de Macoris , Dominican Republic to Fredesvinda (Castillo) and Juan Ramirez. She worked there as a nurse for many years before moving to New York. She loved cooking and dancing, and was a eucharistic minister, cursillista, and legionaria. She gained recognition from Ras J. Baraka, Mayor of the City of Newark, NJ, and was awarded the Lucila Familia Lifetime Award.

Isolina is survived by her children, Luisa and Rosa; grandchildren, Carlos, Austin, Joseph, and Christian; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ramon, Francia, Catalina, Jere, and Gloria. She was predeceased by her husband, Carlos M. Acosta; and siblings, Hermina, Antera, Gloria, Alfida, Ana, and Ulises.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, May 5 from 1 - 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church on Monday, May 6 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
