Ivan Diaz, born on July 19, 1983, in Abilene, Texas, passed away on March 19, 2026, in Newburgh, New York. A devoted son, brother, uncle, and pet owner, Ivan leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and service. He is survived by his mother, Holga Gonzalez; father, George Diaz Sr.; brother, George Diaz Jr.; sister, Olga Diaz-Pallis, sister in-law, Daisy Diaz; brother-in-law, Peter Pallis; nieces, Kaylin Diaz, Olga Pallis, Mia Pallis, and Alina Diaz; nephew, Julien Diaz; and his beloved pets, dogs Leah and Jeter, and his cat Kitty.

Ivan was a skilled mechanic, a trade he pursued after attending Apex Technical School. His career was marked by his significant role as an automotive instructor in a prison, where he imparted his knowledge to help inmates learn a useful trade before their release. His passion extended to his personal life where he enjoyed working on and driving his cherished 1988 Ford Mustang.

Known for his inventive spirit and hands-on skills, Ivan was always busy fixing things around the house or crafting new inventions. His love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles showcased his playful side, especially his handmade costume of his favorite turtle, Raphael.

Ivan was a devout Catholic, and his faith was an important part of his life. A memorial service will be held to honor Ivan's life on March 28th, 2026, at 11 AM at St. Frances de Chantal, located at 190 Hollywood Ave., Bronx, NY 10465.

Ivan's memory will be cherished by all who knew him as a man who lived his life with kindness, creativity, and a commitment to helping others. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will continue to resonate with those he touched.
