James Henry Barley, Sr.

July 17, 1936 ~ December 12, 2024

James (Jim) H. Barley, of Newburgh, New York passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Elizabeth Barley; his parents John Barley Sr and Ethel McCauley, his siblings John Barley Sr, Walter Barley, Edith (Sis) Rylant, Ethel McCurry, and Sally Taylor.

Jim was a highly respected, self-employed roofer and was a mentor to many. He took great pleasure in socializing with his friends and family, playing Bingo, cards and card tricks and playfully engaging in pranks such as Booga Booga amongst other fun.

Jim is survived by his children, Lorenia Barley, James (Jimmy) Barley Jr; stepchildren, Lawrence Vanderbly, and Johnnia Vanderbly; grandchildren Jimmy Barley and Kevin Barley; Great Grandson, Kevin Barley; siblings, Gladys Sanders, Richard Barley and numerous nieces and nephews.
