James Joseph Stankiewicz "Jimmy", of New Windsor, NY, General Manager for Belsito Communications and lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. He was 52. The son of Anne Stankiewicz and the late William Stankiewicz, he was born June 9, 1964 in Newburgh. He married Susan (Spreer) Stankiewicz on May 25, 1991. Susan survives at home.Jimmy attended St. Francis Elementary School and was a 1982 graduate of Wallkill High School. Jimmy was larger than life and had a personality to match. It was equaled by his love for family, sports, coaching, his pets, and was very proud of his Scottish heritage and his strong faith in God. He always put his heart and soul into all he did whether it was time with family and friends, playing softball and pool, and especially coaching. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets and Jets. His love for his dogs Precious and Molly was undeniable. No matter what, Jimmy always made you feel welcomed and would show it by greeting you with one of his huge hugs. He will be greatly missed by all, and his ability to make you laugh and smile will never be forgotten. Jim Coached baseball for New Windsor Little League from 1997-2006. He coached the team that won the District 19 Junior League Championship in 2005, and he coached travel baseball teams including the Newburgh Mets and New Windsor Cyclones for a couple years before his final coaching run at John S. Burke Catholic High School from 2008-2009. In addition, he also coached CYO Basketball at St. Francis and also was a scorekeeper for a year for the OCPSL. He was a lifelong member of St. Francis Church where he served as an altar boy. He played in several local softball leagues for over 30 years and was still playing with the same group of friends he started with. In addition to his wife Susan he is survived by his son Robert Stankiewicz at home, daughter Brianna Barker of Milford PA; siblings Patricia Dalton (Howie), AnneMarie MacEntee (Mark), Joseph Stankiewicz (Jessica) and Rosemarie Barco (Julio); nieces and nephews Kathleen Stankiewicz, Faith MacEntee, Michael Stankiewicz, Jonathan Barco, William Stankiewicz, and Ashley Barco; In-laws Robert and Eleanor Spreer of New Windsor, aunts, Elaine Aulogia of Cornwall and Sr. Ann Stankiewicz of Newburgh; several cousins; and a huge family in Scotland that he loved.Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Monday, February 6 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Tuesday, February 7 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh, with burial following in St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to American Heart Association
